On March 1, 2010 Eric Cramer was named Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Wilkes Telecommunications.

Mr. Cramer began working for Wilkes Telecommunications in January of 2005 when he was hired as the company’s CFO and he was then promoted to CFO and Assistant General Manager of August of that same year. He has over 14 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.
Prior to coming to Wilkes he worked as a Telecom Consultant for a firm located in Greenbelt Maryland for over eight years working with small rural telecom companies like Wilkes Telecommunications all across the country specializing in financial and strategic management and planning.
Mr. Cramer is originally from Crofton Maryland and holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, and graduate degrees including a Master of Science in Telecom and Technology Management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) – both from the University of Maryland.
“I feel our company is one of the most efficient and progressive in the state let alone the country and has already completed an extensive all IP upgrade to our core network,” says Cramer. Wilkes Telecommunications is currently in the process of a complete over-build of our copper cable plant to provide advanced fiber optic service to all of our current customers. Cramer feels that over the past several years the company has done very well and moved into providing new services including Digital TV with High Definition Channels and DVR, as well as Home Security, Medical Alert and Fire Monitoring.
Wilkes’ has expanded their operations and is now providing service for businesses and residents living in the Town of North Wilkesboro and Wilkesboro. “Our goal is to continue to bring cutting edge technology to the residents of Wilkes County and invest heavily in the local the infrastructure to help people connect to the world, educate themselves to learn and grow and engage in business, says Cramer.”
